Best day of the week to visit LFS?

I was wondering what all of you think the best day of the week to visit your LFS was.

Most stores get their stock Tuesday- Thursday. I've been to stores on these days and have seen customers picking specimens before the bags from the wholesaler were even open. Aren't we supposed to wait until they are acclimated in the LFS?

When I visit stores on weekends there is a disappointing lack of livestock. So, when do all of you shop?

My opinion is that it's actually better to pick up new fish when they're still in the bags from the wholesaler. That way the fish doesn't go through the stress of being acclimated to the retail system, then to your own tank. The LFS gets new fish coming and going all the time and could have pretty crummy water. A well maintained QT at home would be much more favorable than their water. Most stores around the bay hand pick their stock, and I would assume they're only picking the healthiest from the wholesalers. Then again you're putting your money on the line rather than waiting to see how the fish does in the LFS's tank.

But to answer your question, I just go whenever I have the time. No certain day of the week for me.

I just go every day. Then I get advance notice of when stuff is coming in... which doesn't matter since I'll be there anyway, haha :)

Most stores don't acclimate stuff anyway. They let the bag float for 15 minutes to several hours then just release them in the tank. If you go to a good store then it's a different story :) ..

depends on the store really. you just have to ask them when they usually get their shipments and show up around that time on those days. i know atlantis had a whiteboard with all the days listed when i was there last weekend

If I told you this I'd have to ---- you :) Can't be givin up the secret hording the bags in a corner before they are even opened technique :)
