I Just got a TLF phosban reactor and im interested in what everyone has had success with. I was kind of thinking to Rowa-phos, but im open to any suggestions.

I have a Phosban reactor and use Phosban on a 125 Reef with fish, LPS, SPS,etc. for the past 14 months and I have zero PO4 and have been checking it regularly with Salifert kits. I just changed the media after about 14 months, probably exhausted.

High capacity GFO from bulkreefsupply.com

+4 Just started using it...water is crystal clear. Algae already packing up and leaving. Do consider halving the dosage to avoid shock though as I have a once solid and very healthy Frogspawn bleaching since I added the reactor and GFO.

I am thinking about purchasing the reactors from bulkreefsupply and what I would like to know if anyone is using the dual set up for GFO and carbon. They say it's better to do two single reactors over the dual. I have had a algae problem for a very long time and I have been able to control it with vodka. The problem that I have is sometimes the lps coral does not like it, will the gfo give me the same problem? If I order a reactor for the gfo and carbon how much of each do I need to order to start out.
Thanks Rich

Well carbon and GFO use different water flow. So running them together wouldnt be a great idea.

I used two tlf phosban reactor with minjet pumps. Works really well.

I run BRS HC GFO and BRS ROX carbon to gether in a TLF reactor. I just add another sponge and put the carbon on top. Like 2 layers, I don't let them mix together. I have been doing this for about 3 months and haven't had any problems. The BRS HC GFO and the ROX carbon are about the same size so it works out very well. I don't think it would work as well with some of the larger carbon out there.

how often are you guys changing the hi cap gfo? also, what amount are you using per gal?

I use their regular gfo, but never the hi cap, is there a big difference in performance and longevity?

all of them are going to reduce phosphates. HC may work twice as well using the same amount of the product (which I doubt despite the claims) but cost significantly more then plain jane so I just get whatever and use the amount it takes which is ALWAYS way less than a 4th of my reactors capacity. I'm in search for the LEAST DUSTY GFO which is far more important to me then any performance difference.
