Best LED Fixture for the price

I'm thinking one of the fixtures from OceanRevive, and then sort of...sticking... a single bulb T5 strip on either side of it?

I think I'm going to roll with a pure LED rig, and maybe supplement with T5's down the road. Or stick a bunch of LED's on Steve's fixture. I dunno :hmm4:

Or, if someone wants to donate 250 bucks, I can get one of these http://www.prestige-led.com/gamma.html

I wish T5 LED combos weren't so pricey. I still need to budget in a controller and ATO.

Do you plan to run a hood or canopy of some sort? If you do than a DIY t5 setup would be real cheap and easy to do, since you have ballasts and wiring, or if you wanted to upgrade, I actually have extra ballasts from my ati sunpower you could use. One ballast runs two 39w bulbs. I also have extra reflectors from the ati fixture. Yours for the low trice of a IOU frag down the road.

I have a couple Hagen glo ho t5 ballasts that I could part with one if you need it. I wanna keep one just in case I want to use one.

I wasn't planning to, but it may be easier. I was thinking of having a floating fixture and covering the tank with a plate of glass or just a mesh canopy.

Is there a way to attach a T5 on either side of an led fixture? Kind of like what you were saying with the led strips, but the exact opposite, haha.

If you get a fixture like the rapid DIY kits you could probably mount short T5s directly to the heat sink. That may look a little funky though.
