okee back to RC
does any one know if i can hook a icecap ballast to a regular light switch then have it plugged all the time or would that be too much power going through it ?
Hmmmm i have no idea, but you know what really sucks When you have the ballast plugged in the wall and you try plugging the connectors on the cord that go from the halide to the ballast and you touch the metal things....ZZZZZZAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP Yeah that **** hurts
lol yea thats always fun i remember last time my tank over flowed (my roomates fault) came in woke me up and shes standing in water electricuting herself sweeping it into a dust pan . then the dogs go running out side and step in it zap the 1st one zap # 2 im like OMG turn the power off she said o yeaaaa doh
Is she blond too Yeah after electricuating myself through my ballest (i think that makes it stronger i donno exactly what that box does lol) I learned my lesson, but i'm always grabbing cords and plug ins with wet hands. I have zapped myself too many times to count, but that ballest one really knocked me on my *** lol
i did that with a rio powerhead in the tank that went bad i kept sticking my hand in it and getting shocked and kept doing it like a mouse trying to get electrified cheese then out hand in lift one foot stopped put it down zap . yea were all blonds
Hehehehe i got a rio thats screwed up too. Whenever the power goes out i have to take it appart to get it started again and that sometimes zaps me lol But i got like 700 GPH in my little 25 gal hahahahaha
If I'm reading it right you would be fine with a switch between the wall and the ballast. Now between the ballast and lights could be fun, not sure what that would do.
I've whacked myself more times than is medically safe. Fire alarm panels can hurt But I've escaped ballasts so far, those can run into the thousands of volts, of course at a low enough amperage to let you continue to post here... Regardless, I will consider that good advice that I'll most likely remember after i get zapped by the tank..... again..... <I'll remember to put in the drip loop>
Yeah i got zapped between the ballast and the light, that sucked........My arm was numb for a couple days lol I was a dumb *** and didn't turn the switch off on the ballast before i tried connecting the cords. In between the ballast and the light have a quick disconnect safety thing and thats what i was connecting. (safety my *** lol)
yea i was thinking between the ballast and the plug yea that might be pretty fun between the ballast and light might have a light show there okee shopping list 2 gfci's and one light switch hmm what else do i need
if any one wants a grouper id buy more fish but nobody seems to want him
