Best Magnet Cleaner for Acrylic

I have a 6 foot acrylic tank - 3/4 inch thick, and as my SPS colonies are getting bigger, it is becoming a real PIA to clean the calcarious algae off the front and sides. I had a hammerhead with my smaller tank and the results were metzo-metzo

Will those heavy duty magnivors do the job or do I have to keep scraping with a scraper and credit card edge. What do you think.

Thanks,

Andy

they are expensive, but these magnets rock. i have been using them for about 8 months on my acrylic tank with great success. they have a few optins you can add, like their algae dozer bad and they even have a small scraper attached to a felt pad that removes coralline real easy.

be forewarned, they ARENT cheap.

I purchased the tunze for my 3/4 inch acrylic. I am sure that it is not the best out there, but it does the job and rarely slips off the glass. I know that it is only a matter of 100 bucks to move up to a better one, but I clean the glass so much, that not much builds up on it anyway.

you can add, like their algae dozier pad

This dozier pad looks exactly like the Scotch Dobie Pads you can buy at Walmart or Target for $1.50. Just cut one end, take out the sponge and insert your magnet. Works great for acrylics with coraline. The Scotch Dobie pads are for cleaning teflon pots since they scratch easily.

Works with most Magnets.
