Best method for single tank qt

Hi All,
As per the title. I unfortunately do not have the space to set up two tanks for ttm qt, so what is the best way to operate a single tank for qt.

I was just doing observation. Not no more, Prazi will be used 100% of the time on any new arrivals.

Would you mind outlining your method?

Sure. With very few exceptions I follow this process:

1. Drip acclimate fish
2. Add to QT tank
3. For 3-4 days observe fish and make sure I get it eating well
4. Begin a Cupramine copper treatment
5. After a full Copper treatment for 14 days I add carbon and do a water change to remove copper
6. I FEED my fish Prazi soaked food a few times several days apart.
7. Observe fish for another week or so to see that it continues to eat well and appears healthy
8. Three days before I add it to the display I begin feeding the DT fish more than normal with garlic soaked food to help reduce aggression when I add the new fish.

About a 4-5 week process. FWIW, I have a 40 breeder as my QT. I have PVC pipe pieces, fake plastic plants and a couple pieces of rock for the fish. I also keep a plastic tray of sand in it for wrasses.

Probably the best course given a single tank restriction. I suggest CP for at least 30 days. And avoid chromis.

Just a thought on filtration, the only spare filters I have laying about are canisters. Would maturing some live rock rubble in a bag in the main system and then adding it to the canister when I'm ready to set up the qt tank be a good way to go?

The QT should be bare so I use sponge filters seeded with "Dr. Tim's One and Only" in a bottle.

i keep several sponges in my sump. when i get a new fish, i add that sponge to the qt. i've never had a problem with ammonia. my qt is 10g, a 1 or 2g water change every couple of days takes me about 30 seconds.

I'm going to keep the tank bare bar some pvc hides.

I usually use plastic bio ball type media for my biological filtration in my fw it would be easy to keep a couple of bags in the sump and would be easy to sterilise after use for reseeding.
