Just like the title says, what are YOUR personal experiences with methods on getting anemone growth, what were your steps you took in your method, and what were your results?
In the past metal halides and daily feedings did the trick for me - the green one I had my clarkii in grew to dinner plate size in no time.
Tough many of the BTA you find today in stores will likely split before reaching a decent size.
Back then I was catching my on Mysis and feeder shrimp and also had always a lot of little gobies as by-catch. I usually fed the gobies to the anemone but the clarkii liked them too
I've been feeding mine with live cherry stone and little neck clams. We can get them at the store here in Nebraska. Mine have liked this the best. I just throw a couple pounds into an acclimation box in the tank and keep them alive until I want to feed.
I usually feed half a clam twice a week to each anemone.
I catch my own squid and oysters and feed my anemones biweekly with both squid and oyster. I used to feed other foods but the anemones seem to look better and healthier after feeding the squid and oyster so I am now only feeding those
I used to feed de-shelled marine shrimp. Each piece was up to 3/4" in size maybe twice a week. My BTA was hosting a pair of red tomato clowns which helped it as the clowns would also feed it.
i rarely feed mine at all, could not even tell you when i feed it last, it grows and splits , right now it is the size of a dinner plate, had for 6 years now, clowns love it and barley leave it.
If you fed it, it would probably split. Mine keep splitting but usually after a wc. I feed mine to get some size on them, but feed only twice a week and very little when I do. I've had them upchuck food because it was too big
