best mod for prism skimmer

i have a prism skimmer with the surface kit on a 20 aga and was wondering what is the best mod for it. it doesnt do real bad but was wondering if maybe i could put an air pump on line in and if that might help and if i did would i need to make a tall collection cup so i didnt get alot of wet skimmate also not going to buy a new one for it as i will be going to a 90 in middle of year and have already bought a aqua c ev-180 for that one

Sounds like you know what you need to do. I dont really think a lot of people use those skimmers so I dont think very many people can help you

absolutely no malice intended here, but I think wakefreak33's response is pretty much on the money. Most folks give up on these skimmers pretty quickly. I know I did.

Do a search on "Prizm skimmer mods". There is a thread that talks about raising the whole unit up 1/2-3/4" off the tank rim. Also, you can raise the collection cup up as high as you can , but not too high or it will leak from the o-ring area. By doing these mods on my prizm, i'm able to run my skimmer wide open and it works quite well.
