Best Nano tank for a Clownfish/Nem Only Tank?

I want to get a pair of maroons and put them in a tank on my kitchen counter. It would just be them and an anemone.

I'd really prefer to buy an all-in-one setup just to save time and space. Any recommendations on which tank and which size?

With maroons, I wouldn't go any smaller then a 29. Mainly because maroons are hard on anemones, and therefore you will need a bigger anemone.
 
I'm not completely resigned on maroons. I think the main thing I'm worried about is finding a system that has good filtration and proper lighting for the BTA I want to put in there.
 
I am not too familiar with the all in one systems, but I wouldn't go smaller then a 24, though I am not sure what lighting they have. If you know what ones you are looking at, and what lights they have, I can give my opinion about if it would be enough. At least you are looking at BTAs, which are at the lower end of lighting requirements for hosting anemones.
 
I am looking at the Aquapod, Nano Cube, and Bio Cube. I love the Solana and already have a Red Sea Max, but there's no way I can afford either of those. Plus, this aquarium is really supposed to be on the top of the counter.

Wonder if I could find a solana without a stand...
 
For the ones from the Foster's link, any of the last 3 ( if you exclude the water's edge one ) should work. Think the one with the 150 MH would be the best ;) With a 14K bulb, would look really sharp.

For the solana one, I would suggest the 150 watt MH pendant one. The 55 watt PC one might by pushing it, since I am assuming it would be a 50/50 bulb.

I have a 12 gallon AquaPod with a 70 watt Sunpod HQI, and I really love it. I would think you could do a pair of clowns with a nem with that lighting, but I would make sure that they all are small when you get them. After adding my live rock and sand I only have about 9 gallons of total water volume.
 
The only issue I would have with a 12 gallon one is that BTAs, can get big. Not all of them will split right away. I had one that was over 15" across before a sold it. If that ends up happening, you will have to stay on top of water changes.

Not saying a 12 gallon wouldn't work, but have to keep the potential size of the anemone in mind.

Could you have a look and see if the lighting on any of the 12 gallons would be sufficient? Frankly, the 24 g ones are so expensive. Not sure I can wing that right now. But I have two other tanks. If the anemone gets too big, I can always move it to another tank.
 
IMO the only all in one system that will work long term with the equipment supplied is the Elos system 70.

the 12G is too small and the Pc lights suck.
 
If money is the problem, then all in one system is not the way to go.
It is alot cheaper to build these system if you are a fair DIY person.
Most of these system that have adequate light for anemone will have heat related problem that can be solve with fans.
Consider the relative cost of the animals and the aquarium system. You will really need to have a well plan system to keep your expensive animals alive for any length of time. A poor system will not bring health to your animal or happiness to you.
 
I think the 12 gallon one with 54 watt PCs might work. Though I would switch out one of the actinic bulbs for a 50/50 bulb, so you are getting more usable light.

It says that it can come with the 70 watt MH, but I don't see a link to buy it.

Since you have other tanks to move the anemone too if the 54 watts isn't enough, or if it gets too big, think it is worth a shot. You MIGHT have to feed it more, but I don't foresee it bleaching out from lack of light.

my buddy had the 70W retro and it melted his hood 3 times...

he just switched to a current outer orbit t5/MH and he is loving it.

Skip the maroons. Get smaller clowns like percs, ocel. or skunks.
