Best Nitrate test around these days?

I use salifert and although there may be better, all that I care about is clear, or barely blue.

API is only good for fish only systems since it reads high range but isn't accurate for low range. For that I would stick with Hanna or the Red Sea Line of test kits.

I disagree, I think if you're under 10ppm there's not much to worry about. API is good enough for that and you get used to what the color is for various results, even if it doesn't match just right with the charts. But, if you're looking for the best and easy to read, it's probably not the first choice. That considered, even with high end kits like Lamotte and Hach, I still haven't come across a nitrate kit that's really easy to read in the low range and match up colors just right. Oh what I've used, and if I wanted the best for a somewhat reasonable price, I'd pick up another Lamotte.

IMHO, API is useless.....when it comes to low range...or any range, actually...Tropic Marin Nitrate kit has served me well for years......

Salifert and red sea have been good to me over the last few years.. Mostly Salifert just started trying the red Sea and I like it.. Matches up to Salifert so that's good enough for me.. And it's cheaper in the long run due to being able to buy the refills.. That I haven't had the need to yet..

Red Sea pro kit hands down. Besides a nice electronic probe or colormetric test. It has an ingenious way of reading the color with a color wheel. Goes all the way down to .25ppm

I have used saliferts for a long time. It's really easy to read the low range (view from the side) test. Basically i can see .2 and 0 pretty easy and I am partially colorblind. Someone suggested the seachem nitrates kit since I started dosing vinegar and it does not work as well for color changing in the low range as the saliferts in my opinion. Kinda feel like I wasted that 15 bucks.

What is the digital on pictures above? How much and how accurate is it?
