Best Octo for a 34g?

Hello:

I am currently finishing the cycle of my CURRENT SOLANA 34g cube, and I am looking to keep a predator. Amongst my options I have been thinking about getting an Octopus however I am clueless as to which one to try to get.

Could someone recommend one? ideally something that is diurnal so that I can see activity in the tank.

This would be the only creature kept in the tank other than cleaner crew (hermits, snails)

Thanks again!

A 34 gallon is a little too small for most species. You can get dwarf O. mercatoris though, and they would do fine individually, possibly in a small community of 3 or 4 (this has only been seen with this species on the hobby level, and only with siblings, other species should always be solitary).

The downfall of dwarfs though is that they are strictly nocturnal and have even shorter lifespans of about 6-8 months on average.

hey animal mother...lol i know you from tonmo.

but to answer the question idk if this is a good idea but i have a hummelincki octopus in a 40 gallon and she did great. and they are also full diurnal and mine loves to play with my hands.

My hummelincki is thriving in my 28g, I think it is a good size for him although I wouldnt go smaller. This octo is diurnal and interacts, the kind everyone wants as a pet. I think if your religious about water changes, he would be the best choice for a smaller tank with LR.
