Best place for macro algae (no fuge)

Since I do not have much room for a refuge under my tank, where is the best place to grow some macro algae (cheato)? Since the first chamber (1) normally has a filter sock, there is not much flow/turbulence at the bottom. The second skimmer chamber (2) is occupied 80% by the skimmer and heater. Chamber (3) might be another place for it.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Are there any other suggestions on where to put some chaeto? I was also thinking of the corner overflow compartment. It's a 5"x5" with a Durso standpipe in it. The lower 10" seem to be low flow. Is anyone else putting chaeto in their overflows?

You could take a plastic container and drill a hole near the top. Put a small bulkhead in the hole and a drain hose. Place the container on top of your sump. Feed the container with a small power head. When the contain fills it will overflow back into the sump. Put the cheato in the container.

Look at Lowes or Home depot. They have some small see through rubbermade storage containers. Cost you about 6 bucks I'll bet plus another $10 for the power head and $4 for the bulkhead.
