Best place to buy bulbs?

Hey all

Is there any shop here on LI that has a good selection of 48" T5 bulbs in stock or am I pretty much stuck going with mail order?

While on the subject, I have to replace the bulbs in my TEK 6x54 watt fixture. Its got 2 actinics on the outside edges and 4 regular bulbs on the inside. Anyone have any recommendations for replacements?

I don't know myself, but you can check out the "T5 question and answer" thread on the 'lighting, filtration, equipment' forum. There is enough information on which T5 bulbs to use to surely overwhelm you!

I stopped in at Aquarium Adventure on Glen Cove Rd and they had T-5's in stock. They're also having a sale on books - 25% off.

I stopped in to get some books I've been wanting. With their "club membership" discount of 10% and the sale price of 25% off, I did pretty well. They carry a nice selection of books, too. No Calfo books or the journal, though. I'll just have to wait for those.....

the 10% plus the sale of 25% and you still probably paid 25% more than any of our sponcors.....

You're probably close....
If you play their game (Aquarium Adventure), IE: join the club, and go there on the right day, when the moon is exactly 33 1/3% full, the prices are competitive. I was only in there twice, the first time to check out a new store, and once after that when I got a mailer from them about a sale. I'd never pay their regular prices on anything, and I don't think they expect most people will. My impression is that the prices marked on livestock/drygoods is "list price". That's what their maintenance customers pay, and it's above retail. Join their club, and they charge you retail prices.

I was just responding to DragonZim's question about buying T5's in a local store and sharing info about what I thought was a good sale.
