I am wanting to get a carpet nem in the near future and my LFS never has them in, and most of the nem's arent in the greatest shape. So should I just get one from LA''s Divers Den to get the healthiest specimen possible?

Also I was thinking haddoni, any other recomendations?

shipping carpets is hard, live aquaria has a 14 day guarantee. That is the only place i would order a nem from online, usually if the nem is going to die it will show signs within the first 14 DAYS.

Lowes, Home depot ect sell carpet...ops you were talking about nems..i dont have a clue about nems but i do like la divers den and thier 14 day gaurentee 9i have only used them for fish though)

Shawn tell us about the tank your putting the anemone in and what kind of clowns will be in there

Its a 210 which will be mostly sps, lots of tangs and wrasses with a pair of GSMs. Lighting is 3 400W halides and filtration will be ATB med with airstar

When adding new fish you should be careful, if I remember someone told me thats when most fish get eaten because they are scared and dart anywhere and sometimes wind up in the nem.

BTW sorry for hijacking whats the first few signs of death for a anemone?

You're adding a Carpet Anemone to a tank with a pair of Gold Stripe Maroon clowns? The natural host anemone for Maroons is a bubble tip anemone not a carpet anemone. Carpets are natural hosts for: Barrier Reef, Bluestripe, Clark's, Mauritian, Oman, Saddleback, and Sebae, and possibly Tomato Clowns. My GSM host in several BTA's and are quite happy PLUS the bubble tip is an "easier" anemone......

Chaloupa, I already have bta, I am going to add a carpet and possibly a pair of picassos or onyxs and if the clowns show any signs of problems the maroon pair will be immediately removed to my other tank

My Maroons are NASTY! But they are in a 120g...at least in a tank your size you have a better chance BUT they are still Maroons....my Picasso trio in my 150g were horrible to my pair of Sunset/Naked clowns I added....I'm finding any clowns added after the initial pair or so just get picked on horribly! I would LOVE to add a Carpet to my Picasso tank.
