Best place to order base rock?

Where did you order your base rock from?

My LFS have really bad base rock for very expensive prices.

I only know hirock.com.

anywhere else that's good or better?

I have rock from both hirocks and from www.reeferrocks.com

The reeferrocks stuff is very nice, but more expensive.

I think you get more bang for your buck at reeferrocks.
I got some from there and it was nice stuff.

The only problem is, reeferrocks is in florida, so the shipping to the bay area is a killer. I paid $90 for 30 pounds. Pricey.

what was the difference between your hirocks and reeferrocks?

The reeferrocks is much more porus with better shapes. many cracks and crevices. hirocks tends to be more dense, much heavier, more boulder shaped. Sometimes you get good hirocks that looks nice, my last order was nice. But you kinda take what you get from them. reeferrocks will tailor your order to you, and even take pictures of the rocks and send it to you upon request before they ship.

I just ordered from reefRocks. I havent recieved the rock yet but i did like the service that you can pick out your own rock and then they will send you a pick. I picked up one that is a solid 80lbs. So im kind of excited to see it in person.

wow that's pretty cool =) I saw that they lay out the rocks for you too. Is that what they do or do you have to order that special package of theirs?

Reeferrocks is great - you won't be disappointed. Post some pics when it comes in.

I ordered 20 pounds 3 weeks ago - the packaged he shipped weighed 28 lbs. Nice pourous rocks.
