Does any one know if there is a difference between Spectrapure and Filmtec membranes as far as how well they work. They both say that they take out 98% contaminates. Does one last longer? The Spectrapure is $79 for 60 g.p.d. vs. $45 for the same g.p.d. Filmtec. I see people talking about The Filter Guys, their other filters for the unit are also cheaper. Is that a good place to buy from. I am basically wanting to save money and not sacrifice quality, if someone could please tell me the differnce between Spectrapure and other brands. The spectrapure ARE DOW Filmtec membranes. They are just hand selected and tested.

Most 75GPD filmtecs will achieve 98% rejection unless something is wrong with them. The ones SPECTRAPURE sells are hand picked and usually better than 98% rejection.

A lot depends on your water quality from the tap.
However you can not go wrong calling:

Spectrapure, Filterguys, buckeyefieldsupply, or purelyh20

All will treat you fairly and honestly while providing a great product and great customer support.

I have a permeate pump on my Spectrapure do you think they are worth it, supposed to get longer membrane and filter life. Do you believe in using the flush kits, some say they are also harmful for the membrane, I have not ever flushed mine it is about two years old. Thank you very much.
