Best Sand Sifter Goby?

Ok guys, what's your recommendation on best sand sifter? Like I mentioned earlier, bringing my 180 back to life. Been running neglected. Did two water 50% changes with sand vacuuming on each. I'm sure there's still plenty of Detritus left. WHo's the Goby for the job that I can keep long term?

THanks

IME - the diamond watchman goby is the best

alternates -any of the "watchman" type - yellow watchman, tiger watchman, bluespotted watchman...etc

The "sleeper" type gobies tend to lift the sand as they clean. If you have a lot of water movement and fine grain sand this might be a problem. Sleeper types include: banded, bullet, striped, gold head..etc

Stay away from: engineer goby, any Jawfish

Can you explain a little more about why you recommend staying away from any jawfish? Reason being I was thinking about getting a blue spot jawfish but if you know something I don't I wanna know! lol

Thanks!

Santiago is looking for a sand sifter; IMO jawfish are not great sand sifters. They tend to dig a hole and decorate their hole with loose rocks, shells, coral frags ;)...etc. They also tend to move locations, digging under your rocks. They dont sift the sand for food like the watchman and sleepers.

Great stuff, the diamond watchman goby was what I had in mind, I just remember having a hard time finding them when I was last setup. Also any issues having him with a Yellow Watchman or a Green Clown Goby?

diamond might fight the yellow. Never had 2 watchman's in one tank. Should be fine with green clown goby.

Hey Santiago,
I really like the smally amblygobius species like the hectors and rainfords gobies. In a big tank like yers also consider banded bullet goby and yea that orange diamond goby is a nice one. The "4 wheel drive" gobies are small buyt very cool as well and you cna sometimes find pairs of them.
