Best settings on mp10 for biocube 29

So i have had the mp10 for about 3 weeks now on Reef crest mode at 30% power. Im just wondering what other modes would be good to try out?

I have mostly Sps, a few Zoa colonies and 1 frog spawn and 1 hammer coral. I have moved the LPS into weaker current @.@ they didnt seem to like the flow. I have the Mp10 on the right side panel about 1.5 inches from the back wall. Any higher then 60-70% power seems to make a Vortex of dooom. This was an upgrade from a Koralia nano in the same position.

Nutrient transport and long pulse seem interesting but is the more random flow from Reef Crest better? Should I increase its flow rating? When I 1st installed it it kicked alot of "stuff" up from my Live rock :S.

I'm on board for some opinions here. I think there has been some threads covering this but I'd like to see what kind of responses you get. I have a nano cube 28 with a koralia nano and an MP10 on order and on its way to the house so I'm pretty much in the same boat as you.

As for the "stuff" being kicked up off of your rock I'd say that's probably a good thing. Eventually it will be filtered out and it will keep your system cleaner in the long run. As long as your sand isn't being thrown throughout your tank I'd say your fine.

I use reef crest between 70 and 90% on my RSM (34 gal total and about 29 gal in the DT) When I first got it I think I had it at about 30% as well because it seemed to blow everthing around too much including the sand and my two baby clowns, but as the tank matures the sand gets alot more "sticky" and the fish and corals love it.

When I feed the corals I just dump in a bunch of frozen stuff along with some reefcleaners filter feeder, some marine snow and selcon. I turn off the filter pumps but turn up the MP10 to 90% so it keeps the food in suspension so the corals can get it.

I use reef crest on 100 in my 30 cube. But switch to ntm every couple days for an hour to amuse myself with making waves. I switch from a 3 inch sand bed to 1/2 inch now because i rather have flow then a deep sand look. Even at the high price tag. I agree with most. Definitely worth the price.

I like the short pulse on about 60% right now seems to make a good back and forth wave motion. My frogspawn and duncans look like they're really swaying back and forth in the ocean.

I have my apex vary the modes all day. I keep it between 85 and 90%, I ended up putting a rock on the opposite side because the sand was completely pushed away. SPS are all happy with the flow and in the lower flow areas the Zoas, Shrooms and frogspawn are doing great.

Just got an apex and have had mine mostly on reefcrest and lagoon mode at about 40-90% but excited to mix up modes through out the day. From my experience seems like leaving it on one mode for too long doesnt do your tank any favors. Mixing it up seems key!
