Best size tanks for breeding clowns/fry

Hi, it seems like so many are giving breeding their clowns a try. It makes me want to give it a try also.

My clowns have been with me for over 1.5 years and they seem old enought (if thats possible to see) to be breed.

I would like everyones opinion on what size tanks the adults should be in and what size tanks to keep the fry's in.

I see people have 20H tanks and some have 10s. What size would be best to keep the fry in once they get a little larger. Wouldn't a whole bunch of fry be cramped in a 20 gallon.

Any help would be great. thanks

Yes, the 20H is very popular, I like also the 29 because of the footprint and depth, 10s work only with a good recirculating system, actually I think all Clone tanks should be on a system that allows you to isolate the tank,

larvae tanks with an airstone and after a couple weeks a sponge filter, with daily siphoning of the bottom. A drip system is also helpful.

Clowns are well worth raising.

I am just starting, but used all 20H tanks as they are easy to rack on end and the glass is thick enough to not be fragile. The most versatile size IMO.

why is there no filtration in the larvae tank until after a couple of weeks. why not just have the system filter throughout the who hatching and rasing process.

You have to keep food densities high. If you have a flow through system with a sump, it will wash away food. The fry can't handle high flow either.

I looked at the 20H and it seems that the footprint is small as compared to the 20L.

Is there a reason the tank should be high versus long?
