best skimmer for 300.00?

MSX is a Marine Solutions brand so I don't believe anybody else carries their product. You can buy the SWC branded version for a little more but I don't know if third-party vendors sell their skimmers or not. I'm going to Marine Solutions tomorrow to pick up an MSX-300 so I'd be happy to provide feedback.

dont get the msx 300 if you want to be happy. the 2 sicce pumps are not enough for the body, some people are trying to use an askol pump to increase performance. you may want to get the msx 250, it will perform much better for you.

I agree on the 300s. 2 Sicces are not enough. They are ok with aggressively meshed MWs. Not a good choice with PWs. The 300s kick arse with an Askoll though. So does a 250.

I kicked it around with Jeff at Marine Solutions as he said the same thing but since I'm sizing this to add more tanks to my sump the 300 will be fine for now so long as I use the mesh mods. It would be nice just to run a NW so I'll add an askoll/laguna to it sometime in the future. As for now, this thing is sitting in my living room waiting to get installed in my sump.
