Best skimmer for a large tank

Uh.. the euro-reef has 3 ehiem pumps w/ a 12" body, the H&S has 2 eheims w an 8" body.

The proper comparison would be between the H&S A300 and the ER RC500. And I doubt you'll see much a of a difference there either.

Certainly, have had both, H&S is better and is quality built.

I went this route. for the price, performance, and the rating I think this is the best option.

I agree...I just couldn't pull the trigger on getting the BK I almost ordered and the Shorty Volcano was very tempting as well. For the price of the BK, I instead was able to upgrade my skimmer to the Reeflo Orca, upgrade my lighting to ATI Powermodules and bought a MTC Pro-Cal.

No kidding...I can't get anyone to try it, and even a few times I have had experienced reefers leave the tank room when I emptied the bucket. It can get seriously funky when I pop the lid! I am real happy with that bucket.

Guys - if you're allowed, and don't mind saying, can you tell me about how much one of those Volcano skimmers would run? Just ballpark... I'm in the market for a new skimmer and trying to figure out if it's even close to my budget.

Are we talking $1000? $2000? More?

That’s a very common question these days, Maybe the guys at Volcano could list some prices or post a link to a web site?

$3K for the shorty and I was very impressed. It also uses a Dart needlewheel. BK is super but the price was to high for my liking. The H&S is German built and excellent quality as well but as indciated 8" body with multiple pumps. I liked the heavy dutiness and commercial look and feel of the sequence as well.
