Title says it , i'm just trying to find out what everyone thinks would be the best HOB skimmer for a 15g nano. The only thing I will be housing will be a small mantis shrimp, so the bio load won't be great, but they are messy eaters, and can make a lot of waste for their size.

So let me know what you all think is the best HOB nano skimmer is, and please include your experiences with them also, good or bad.

THanks in advance.

I never would have agreed- until now. I have never had a tank with as much diversity of life as I do in this unskimmed tank. Do the water changes as a habit and use a little chemi pure. Your water will be crystal clear- but there might be a bit more floating stuff that the skimmer would have floated out- of course thats what begets the critters! I will still skim many tanks- and def if fish are a major component- but nanos might be better without.

Thats what I do, works for me.

well just for precaution I went ahead and got the aqua C nano remora for my tank, and i'm sure I will end up upgrading within the next year anyways

not that i know of........ but i have an overflow box built in to the tank that will do the skimming for me......it should work out

You could have done a lot of water changes for the price of that skimmer. My mantis has been in a tank for a few years now, no skimmer. Maybe done (2) water changes. he is as healthy as can be.

I use a CPR Bak-Pak 2r. It works great on my 10g. It's kind of cumbersome though for a 10g and will be hanging on the sump of my 20g once I get that all set up.
