Best Skimmer for Nanotank

I think its about time for me to add a skimmer to the tank. With less water changes than before I want to make sure the water quality is a good as possible. I'm thinking of a Tunze 9002; excellent reviews and very durable skimmer from what I've read. Also read the Sapphire brand skimmers are decent but I've also read where a lot of folks seem to have durability issues. These are the two front runners currently, however if anyone has some input on some other decent nano skimmers please chime in.

Sapphire has gone out of business, Wifey sued in court, No more skimmers. The Tunze nano skimmers are very good but High Priced, The stock Solana skimmer is quite good for the cost and you can find them used or new.

Those solana skimmer better then the tunze9002. I just setup my solana34 with the stock skimmer but was going to trade it out for the tunze when it's finish cycling. My ponies new home.

I have one of those tunze 9002. I love it you will to it's on my seahorse tank.

Good to hear. I think I'm going to opt for the 9002, however in my tank in order for it to fit correctly I've read I'll need to modify the 2nd chamber or use a different skimmer cup?

I heard the news about Sapphire. There are used skimmers out there but I'd prefer to go with something that has replacement parts readily available. I've found a few Tunzes but for my tank application they say a modded cup is needed such as the Stevie T or I'd have to cut the trim on my tank. I'll have to look into a Solana skimmer. Don't know too much about those.

What size nano is it. Mine fits in the 1st chamber on a 24nano with the ???? Skimmer cup. Not thing sticks out fits right under the hood.

I put a Bubble Magus NAC3+ in my 10g sump for my 20l and really like it. Premium Aquatics had an obo auction on the bay and I got it for $20 less than their normal price, plus free shipping.

Just get the Steve T cup and you will be fine. Your going have to take the magnet off the skimmer tho. Be carefully I've seen people brake the skimmer try to get it off. Use a long razor blade and slow with a lil heat.

Not trying to hijack your thread here, but I've got a quick question... On tunzes site, it says that the 9002 should not be used on tanks with less than 26 gallons of actual water... Why on earth would that be? I've never seen a skimmer claim that before...I always thought you couldnt over do it with a skimmer? Correct me if i'm wrong!
