"best" tank cleaner flipper, magfloat etc?

best

best

On a related note, what is the best magnet cleaner that won't scratch glass. I am going from acrylic to glass in a few weeks and being from the acrylic world of tanks I am paranoid about scratching the glass scrubbing coraline.

Both the flipper and tune are both really good Glass is so much easier to clean than acrylic, star fire is easier to scratch than the standard glass. You will be happy with the switch from acrylic to glass.

If it's alright, I'd like to hijack this thread and ask for the best acrylic cleaner. My first acrylic tank comes this week and I don't want to scratch it.

I use an Algae Free Hammerhead cleaner. You can buy replacement pads that are available for both glass and acrylic tanks

well Ok guess the flipper does sink but not fast and long as the outside magnet is around.
still might give it a try. or just buy more corals...haha

So, it looks like felt pads and magic erasers are the only acrylic cleaners?

Are magic erasers slightly abrasive? Any risk long term?

I have both and prefer my tunze. The Tunze cleans better then the flipper and I like the long and small blades to get into various areas. You can also dive the tunze down into the sand easier then the flipper without much worry about scratching the glass.

Issue with the Tunze is that it is larger and as such you need more space between rocks and glass to use it.

Magic eraser works great on acrylic without any damage that I can see. Little pressure is required and it really gets everything off. An acrylic tank manufacturer told me about it if that says anything.

It's easy to slice thin veneers with a bread knife to fit your magnet.

That's a nice tip, thanks

Besides magic erasers, what do ya'll think is the best/most efficient acrylic cleaner.

I love my mag float with scraper for my glass, but will be picking up an acrylic nano and would love a suggestion.

Dobie pad and expired gift cards

Slight hijack.

I have been using the same aqueon magnetic scraper for the past 2.5 years. Am I really missing out?

Setting up a 120 glass tank....Flipper or Tunze and what size? Feedback is appreciated!
Thanks

The tunze can't flip to the next glass panel which was a must for me since I have to clean all 4 sides of my 180... I am very impressed with the flipper so far and prefer it to my mag float w/scraper attached

Thanks for the feedback! I've got many opinions and watched the videos and am leaning Tunze, just not sure which one. I already have a magfloat and Tunze seems to cut the algae with the least chance of glass scratches.

I have no clue what you are doing wrong but the tunze "flips" to the side panels and such just fine. I would equate it as doing it just as well as my flipper.

I have bith flipper and tunze and prefer the tunze since i can clean into the sand bed.

Though if your rock is close to panels the flipper is smaller profile and as such can fit in tighter spots
