Best timing on wave pump?

I have set up my 75 gal tank with two 1200 GPH stream pumps (one on each end of the tank) connected to a Hydor smart wave switch.

The switch has several options for time interval. What do people think the best interval is for a mixed reef tank?

I have it on 15 min now but wondering if 1 min would be better or does it matter?

Thanks

I have my RW15s on a JB wave and they work like this.

Standard 55g
Both up near the top of each side of the tank pointing slightly up towards the surface.

Both run constant on 30% speed to keep the water stirred up. The collision of water makes a pretty good random pattern in the middle of the tank.

They run on an random alternating pattern. One will ramp up over a max time of 3 seconds to a max of 70% then ramp back down over a max time 3 seconds back to 30%, then the other will do the same. Back and forth.

It works nicely. Sometimes I will storm the tank by placing both pumps on alternating at 0-100% at a one tenth second cycle. That looks like this:

I'll let that run for a few hours every couple weeks to get stuff stirred up as well as squirting the rocks with a turkey baster.

It's a ton of flow but the fish seem to like it. And the corals don't seem distressed.

I guess I didnt give enough detail.

The switch alternates the two pumps with several options for duration of each pump.

Right now it runs one pump for 15 min then turns that one off and runs the other one for 15 min then turns that one off and runs the first again for 15 min etc, etc.

I am wondering if a different time interval would be best?

I can do 5 sec, 10 sec, 15 sec, 1 minute, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 3 hours or 6 hours.

I am wondering if a different time interval would be best? I am thinking the 1 or 15 minute would be the better options or maybe it doesnt matter?

Bump

Looking for some advice
Does anyone with powerheads on their tanks willing to share their settings??

15 minute switch good or would 1 min be better for corals?

You will probably just have to play around and experiment with them until you find what is best for your tank and inhabitants. A lot of it depends on the corals you have and where they're located in your tank. There really is no right or wrong with this, go ahead and try what Bent suggested and see if that works for you.

Something at a min or less would better replicate the ocean. I would play around with the 5,10 and 15 sec and figure out which one you like best

I have the same controller. After watching waves at the beach...a wave rolls in every 15-20 seconds. That means it's surging in for 10s and receding for 10s. So I have mine alternating around every 10s...just a made up theory but that's what I do.

Also, if you switch the left knob all the way to the right it'll run both together in an on/off pattern. Similar to Bent, I will sometimes run them simultaneously in a 2m on/off pattern just to change it up and disturb detritus.
