Best to start with?

Hey there. I just started a 29 gallon tank.

I was wondering what you guys thought the best starter soft coral would be?

Maybe some polyps?

A Colt Coral (Alcyonium) is pretty good. It won't drop branches like a Kenya Tree (Capnella). They will also tend to sway with the current and give you some nice movement in the tank.

Best of luck,

Roy

The light is great. It is SOOOO bright. I love the LED that makes the moon light. It is nice to watch.

I wanted to get some Coralline Algae growing so I have some "purple up" from a while ago and I have had the lights on for 8 hours a day. I need to get a timer soon though for when im not home.

Do you guys sell good timers?

Do you think if I don't get some from someone else I won't be able to grow any of my own or will it for sure come?

I'll check home depot thanks!

it will grow if you have some live rocks to start with, but if you get some from others, you will accelerate it. The faster your coraline grows, the less algea will cling to your live rocks

Plus coraline comes in different varieties, some are red, purple, lavender, pink ect .. so if you get it from different people will will guarantee to have a good mix of coraline colors.
