Best Top-Off System

I've been looking into Top-Off controllers or pumps and would like some advice on which brands are good and which ones are junk.

Thanks,
Jon

I heard one of the best is the tunze osmolator, but I personallly use 2 litermeters and a kangaroo 324.

I use a constant drip of kalk water, but then my evap is only about a gallon a day.

Thats what I do also

I add kalk water 2 times per week - about 3 gallons added via a aqualifter pump- takes about 2 hours. CHEAP and not perfect- but I am too busy or too cheap to do it any other way right now.

I add kalk via a reactor once every day. I usually end up adding about 2 gallons per day to the tank. It helps, but I usually end up dumping about 5 gallons into the sump once a week to top it off anyway :) Still, works for me.

I have also heard the Tunze osmolator is the best. But I've recently been looking at the litermeters. How much are the litermeters? It seems confusing because they have different kinds or options at different prices. Which one do you need just to top-off evaporation water?

I use the basic litermeter. You can program it to add a certain number of liters a day. It is not perfect. I can ususally go about 2 weeks and then I will need to add a bit of water to the tank to get the sump level correct. You may need to adjust the liters per day when you go from summer to winter.

I think spectrapure also makes a kit that will turn the litermeter on when the level gets low, more like a conventional top off.

I've used the spectrapure liquid level controllers in the past and they have worked flawlessly. I'm actually ready to order a new one to put it on the system I have now, I will hook it up to an aqua lifter to take ro water from a reservoir and pump it to the sump.
