I have made and read many posts about how to feed a baby clam. Many people, including me, place their small clams in a bowl with DT's for 20 minutes or so every few days. While I have been doing this for some time with a 1.5"-2" gold maxima, he has been gaping slightly ever since I got him. His expansion is excellent and he has grown rapidly in my estimation, but I'm still unsure if I am causing him unnecessary stress.
Can the baby clams get enough food if I just dose the tank with DT's every couple of days? I am interested in hearing about experiences from anyone and everyone. I don't know how or if I would know if a clam was starving. Please share your thoughts and ideas as maybe we can all take better care of our smaller clams by pooling our knowledge.
