Best way to get rid of GHA

I've had some issues with cyano recently that I seem to be getting pretty close to getting under control, but now that that's getting better, I'm getting GHA starting up. I'd like to get ahead of the game and find the best solution for me to get rid of it. I think I read something before about using high pH or limewater to get rid of it? does that sound familiar to anyone? I think it may be being fueled by the nutrients that the dying cyano is releasing maybe? I did put in fresh GFO. a couple of days ago, but the GHA continues to grow. It's not real bad yet, but the issue I'm having now is my birdsnest had a few dead spots from cyano suffocating it, and now I have GHA growing in those spots where I want the coral to heal.

Did you try a Phosphate reactor? What kind of water do you use? RO/DI? How long has the tank been up? What kind of flow, lighting etc?

Yeah a media reactor with GFO changed bi weekly until the issue is resolved would do the trick. Once you have your nutrient levels under control, changing out the GFO once a month and regular water changes will keep things balanced out.

Thanks for the tips guys. I'll try them out when I get back from my honeymoon. I'm liking what I've read so far about algaefix. I think I'll probably give it a try. I do use RODI water and run GFO. I have near undetectable nitrates and phosphates in my tank, so I'm not sure what else to do. I've read elevated magnesium before, but I tried that in the past with no useful effect.
