i am plumbing a dart from 2x1.5" intakes through a"T" to the dart and will probably use a double wye to split the flow three ways for 1" returns. i will use glue flex pvc most likely.
are there any spots along the plumbing where gluing is not recommended and threaded connections should be made instead?
and...where should i have ball valves?
Install true union ball valves on both ends of the volute. Get some threaded nipples for the pump side, cut the other end off and glue it to the union. Use LOTS of teflon tape, those Darts are hard to get the threads to seal. Customaquatics sells George Fisher true union ball valves in large sizes at a decent price. 1" and 2" Sch 80 nipples can be purchaced at a good pool supply shop.
I would avoid any threaded connections if at all possible...they can leak(usually very slowly) or fittings get cracked from over tightening.

Are you getting all your supplies together for the big plumbing project/nightmare...LOL
