Does anyone know an effective, yet fast, way to remove ich from chaeto? When I say fast it could be a couple weeks. I just don't want to wait 72 days. Thanks for any help.
I would say hypo it but, I've don't see it really worth the effort. I've bought some awesome chaeto off eBay for a great price. A large zip lock bag jam packed, no pests.
Take a strand and let it grow in a container with sterilized saltwater (I would just boil some old tank water, let it cool back down and adjust the salinity).
Without fish no new tomonts can form so all the new growth will be clean. Clip them of and let them grow out a bit more.
I started my chaeto culture with a little piece that came with a bottle of Reef Nurtrition tisbe. That by the way would be the other way to get clean chaeto: get a bottle of tisbe with the little chaeato ball in it. The tisbe cultures are definitely fish and therefore ich free.
