Best Zoanthid Lighting

I'm looking to upgrade my current lighting and want to do so in a way that maximizes my Zoanthid growth and colour. I was leaning towards the Radion XR30w Pro on my 30L x 24D x 22H. Do any of you Zoanthid pros have any suggestions?

cheers!

You're going to get about a dozen different answers... This question on lighting in general has been asked hundreds of time.

That being said.. I prefer Reefbreeder LEDs. I get pretty good-constant growth.

Nice pairing. I also see guys adding the reefbrite strips as they bolt right up to the ATI fixtures and look like it came that way.

Love my Prime.

Picture of a Gold Maul I got 4 days ago. Excuse the crappy iPhone pix.

Under 20k setting

Ok, ok...

I'm still alive and well. :wildone:
Tank is doing great as aways!!!
Been extremely busy with work and family, beside many other volunteer works and activities with the kids.
Got an email from the forum today from one of the threads I had subscribed and decide to say hi to you all!! :bounce3:

I would suggest that "best light" will depend on what you're looking for.
They grow very fast under metal halides.
I've been keeping them under T5s for more than 7 years now in my 75gal. and I just love that!!
Had experience with LEDs only for about a year before I had to sell that system. They grew very good under the LEDs, but it wasn't quite the same as my T5's to tell the truth. Just my opinion on their overall appearance.
The colors under LEDs were brighter, much brighter to tell the truth.
They were still very healthy and gorgeous.

So, I would say that if you don't mind the costs of the T5s, I would have them and a supplemental stripe of blue LEDs just for the colors.

Or just go with a good reliable LED system.

But all 3 lights, or combo of them, will keep them alive and healthy.
Personal preference is what you have to go with.

One more thing: light isn't everything for the zoas. You can spend all your money but if there is no stability and good params you won't have the balance needed.
There is much more, and please search the forum.... There are lots of good helpers here! Good luck!

Aloha to all my friends here!
I miss you guys!
Be good and keep zoaing!!!!!!

Grandis.

Glad to see you back sir..

Love the LED's! Using the Prime now and my Zoas and Paly's love the light! Nice because you can adjust the color as well as the intensity.

My zoas have survived every tank disaster known to man and thrived while other corals stagnated or died.

Kessil A360s

So pretty Tweaked :)

I use Kessil 360w at first, then move over Maxspect razor 420w. My Zoa love it and their size bigger too
