Beware-people do stupid things

LOL!! Gotta love Homer. Joe, great story and a reminder to all of us that what makes perfect sense to us isn't so simple for other people (but that plumber still sounds like an idiot)

what a story, glad no damage was done ( imagine your tank was fully stocked???) god idea to tell people to stay away! i went away for the weekend and told my brother in law to add top off water ( from clearly labeled containainers) until the water line is reached. ( he did not see the line and added so much fresh water that my SG was 1. 018!! of course i only have a 24G, but its stocked ( everyhting survived)

The way I look at it is, if your going to go that far with the plumbing, you should know how to tap into your water and waste lines......

You know..If you want it done right, do it yourself.

So I would learn the about the "branches" not just the "leaves".

I do alot...ALOT of automation....and I still will throw a valve that I SHOULDNT.

One thing that I learned moving nuclear fuel is the touch method. Touch the valve , say outloud what its for and then turn it. Works well....

1) glad to hear no permanent damage or losses occurred

2) try to keep it simple

3) that plumber is exactly the reason I do all house/tank work myself

4) do I see a wet/dry system there? If so, I'm surprised you have ozone with wet/dry. The two pieces of equipment, in my opinion, reflect two different levels of tank husbandry and knowledge.
