bfliflet's 300g Triton results

I didn't want to derail Jeff's thread so I thought I'd post my Triton results. This 300g uses RC and is filtered by ATS, skimming, carbon and KZ ZeoStart3 dosing. I use BRS two part for Ca/Alk. I was dosing some of the other KZ items for color/growth (stopped most when root causing coral dieoff). I don't use GFO or Aluminum based PO4 removers.

Observations:
- Aluminum(Al) low compared to most Triton results but introduced as it's not measurable in makeup water
- Potassium(K) low in both aquarium and makeup water
- Bromine(Br) high. Also high in makeup water
- Boron(B) elevated. Same in makeup water
- Lithium(Li) high. Same in makeup water
- Zinc(Zn) high in makeup water. absorbed by AQ
- Iodine(I) high in makeup water. absorbed by AQ
- Iron(Fe) high in makeup water. absorbed by AQ
- Barium(Ba) high in makeup water. low in AQ
- Silicon(Si) high in makeup water. low in AQ

Since submitting the water samples but before receiving results, I've already replaced the carbon and RO membranes. I run my carbon passively but suspect it and/or my ATS are absorbing some of the excess elements. I am planning to add another buffer of carbon to my RO unit. I plan to resubmit another pair of samples to ensure my corrective actions were effective.

What Barium level did you see in the make up water -- would be important info if the ATS can remove Barium

The Barium level was elevated (25ppb makeup vs 10ppb set point vs 2.25ppb in tank) aka ~90% reduction. Here's my RC makeup water. I am not entirely convinced its ATS but if it was I would suspect heavy chaeto or macroalgae tanks would or could see similar effects. I posted my results mainly to show potential differences with ATS vs say traditional GFO or Al-based PO4 remover setups.

My makeup water was embarrassing. My tank water looks better in most cases... Hopefully, changing out the RO cartridges improves it.

Mark, I wasn't using the Triton method but I was interested in what Triton results provided. I am reposting this information as a request by Chris and Anthony.

Gotcha. A friend (JBNY) is converting his 270 over to the method. Thanks for the info.
