Hey Guys, been lurking here for a while, love the SPS keeper section of RC. Been following many threads here and decided ild take the plunge and start a thread here. Local Marine sites are on the decline as Dom would know, so off to greener pastures we go.

Bit of history over the life of this tank:
- Started with a red sea max 250
- Modded pretty much everything in the RSM to run zeovit
- Discovered the colourfull stick variety of corals and did my best to cater for their needs (still in the process of doing such)
- Slowly removed all other corals to make room for the SPS glory
- Ran out of room in the RSM250, got a bit depressed at the lack of room i had with the 250 so decided to upgrade to a 4x2x2
- Built the cabinet for the 4x2x2
- Found a 6x2x2 starfire thee sides for a good price
- Realized the 6x2x2 could fit much more hopefully colourfull sticks in it
- Had to build another cabinet for my 6x2x2
- The 6x2x2 now up and running for about 6 months give or take, now has a 4x2x2 stand next door to it housing my RO tank, calcium reactor and associated equipment.

Tank is currently very fish limited due to a mishap on my behalf, which was a costly mistake rushing fish through quarantine.

The tanks current state and equipment list:

Tank: 6x2x2 starfire to three sides
Lighting: 8 x 80w ATI sunpower
flow: 2 x mp40s 2 x 150w gyres
Skimmer: RLSS r10u
Refugium: Cheato and Caulerpra, currently baby brine shrimp hatchery aswell
Reactors: carbon, zeo reactor
Return pump: Waveline dc10000
Current supps used:
- KZ coral vitalizer 8 drops every other day
- KZ zeostart 3 0.5ml twice daily
- KZ aminos 8 drops on rotation to CV
- KZ zeobak 8 drops when i feel like it
- KZ k balance 4ml every second day
- Brightwells lugols 2 drops twice weekly
- Brightwells replenish 2ml daily

Still have plenty to learn and love researching, so have read plenty of threads and often change the way in which i run the system constantly chasing the dream of ultimately colourful sticks! heres some pics from around the place!

Ive been tagging along several threads so i beleive i have learnt the art of self control and not to throw up all your photos at once, so on that note i will hault there so i dont put pics up of the same coral every week. will take some new photos tonight and see if i can find some comparison photos
thanks for watching! Let me know if ive missed anything!

Welcome! This is one thread I will definitely follow! Aussie sps are second to none imo ;)

Hey Seachange! thanks ive made a thread previously but Sahin alerted me thta no one else could view it, so its basically me rambling ongoing convos with myself. Im in the process of transferring everything over :)

Adding my triton results, i have been overdosing iodine and it has built up :/ also have a soruce of copper, i suspect my broken mp40 wetside has something to do with that. fo a few points to focus on

Some more pics from around the place, got my hands on a yellow tail tamarin the other day, havent seen one in aus for a while so i jumped at the chance to own it. started culturiung my own baby brine shrimp, and within the 2days hatch period (old eggs) he was eating frozen!

here he is, as well as my other residence that was hovering about, was trying my hand with a new macro lense. didnt realize i had to stand so far back to be in focus haha thought i could just magnify stupid amounts from top down. turns out i was wrong

looking to add some leds to my lighting when i finally hang my ATI, just to ensure i can keep nice colours and growth on the far sides as im running a 80w t5 fixture over a 6footer, no dramas with that, just figured why not give it a go.

An unknown coral, anyone got any ideas?

Ph according to my apex was averaging between 7.8 - 8.00 therefore i have installed a co2 scrubber. I used a 2 litre sealable container, drilled holes around the bottom quarter, filled it with black sponge passed the holes. Filled the rest with sofnolime and drilled another hole through the top which my skimmer air intake is connected. Lowest Ph now is 8.0 with highest reaching up to 8.3, now to see how long the media lasts.

Another down note, i have been battling monti eating nudis with the constant dipping taking its toll on my red setosa. Other montis are still growing, hopefully i can get them under controll soon. I have tried dipping potassium permanganate, however this seems to stress corals out significantly, as such i am currently dipping coral RX at a higher %

Added three kessils to supplement the ati's.
A photo of my clam collection, there is also two t.ningaloos in the tank

Promoising little frag i re-discovered. Saved this frag off a whole colony that STN'd after being delayed during shipping, starting to regain its forer glory.

Red frag seems to be deepening in colour. I attempted to get a photo of my newly introduced majestic, has adult colours but is still small. The war upon monti eating nudis seems to have gone well, have been removing and scrubbing with dipping sessions three times a week, have ceased operations for two weeks and upon visual inspections there re no nudis left. now to see if they manage to spawn again....

Old echi seems to have lose some colour when i added leds to my lighting, still trialing new settings and ramping up leds so bit of teething to do. And new echinata frag

Will try to get some better pics. Upgraded the lighting and added a few kessils in to supplement the ATI sunpower (new craze of in aus) and then went away for a two week northern WA trip, timer on the ATI got stuck so my folks were turning the lights on and off manually and managed to bleach the crap out of the tank. Even the coraline looked bleached! so slowly on the mend. Also adopted AF vitality, aminos, energy and build. As i run a calcium reactor added the A B C compenents and feel like growth has increased. Although i have been tinkering a fair bit constantly changing so it could be down to many things. Time will tell

Ok so Sahin asked about a tank journal which reminded me to update.
Current info for Sahin

lighting: ati sunpower 8 x 80w
5 x kessils
filtration: no idea how much but alot of siporax, some matrix in a avast vibe reactor
Carbon in a reactor
flow: 2 x gyres 150w 2 x jebao rw15s 1 x jebao rw8 also a mp10 in the overflow, and another rw4 in the sump comartment housing the siporax
skimmer is a rlssr10u with a dc10000 pump as the dc5000 died.
Dosing: Caclium reactor supplies my cal alk and mg
aquaforest a b v e daily half dosage
zeostart 3 0.5ml twice daily
feed very heavy aka nearly 8 cubes a day frozen plus four pellet feeds from the apex auto feeder. Feel free to ask any questions :P
some pics as i just got my camera battery and charger

So coral food you are using af and bacteria dosing is kz I am right to say that?

How many litres of siporax are you running?

How much are you skimming per day?

Yes correct, coral food and trace elements are AF, bacteria is kz.
At the moment i havent emptied the skimmer cup in about a week and a half and its a big cup so im skimming pretty dry atm.

I estimate to have around 20l of siporax and 5l of matrix (loose track of what i add sorry) i only recently added 7.5l and plan to add another 7.5l as i stumbled across them for cheap by accident ;)
