bi color and SPS

Jesus that is scary, I have a bicolor but had him a long time and hasn't messed with anything yet. Hass anyone found any good info on blennys eating corals?

I had my bicolor for three years without any incidents. All of the sudden he started taking huge chunks out of my SPS right in front of me! Luckily he was caught and has been re-homed to an LPS tank. I had no idea blennies could do that.

Graha321 do you know why it started eating the coral all of a sudden? Did you start feeding something different? What were you feeding your fish if you didn't?

Nothing changed. I usually feed some pellets twice a day, sheet algae and frozen in the evening. I certainly wouldn't say he was starving. No idea what made him decide SPS looked tasty. My red planet was dead before I figured out it was the bicolor. He was fairly large, probably at least six inches long.

Wow thats a huge bicolor, now everytime I look at him I see him as a potential threat to the coral. It will be hard to convince my girlfriend to pull him out unless he starts eating corals. How fast was he at destroying your red planet?

i feed rods food, brine shrimp and mysis shrimp but he had done it since i first got him but after he chews on them he never does again unless its a new sps going in there.

I ha done for a few years and never witnessed him nipping. After I go trid of the bi-color, I noticed alot better PE. Hmmmm.
