Not trying to start anything... but its always puzzled me...

Our local Big Als has a 2000 gal shark tank that currently has four 4+ foot long Leopard sharks, an adult Brown Banded Bamboo shark (aprox 30"), and an adult white spotted bamboo (aprox 30") as well as an assortment of Angles and groupers (large ones).

I cant help to think that their system is way too small for what there keeping.

The leopard sharks look like their on the brink of insanity from swimming in a counterclockwise circle for the past 3 years - in fact I cant remember if I EVER saw them swiming in the other direction.

whats a BIG AL's ?

I don't know if I would try to keep a lepord shark in a 2000 gallon tank . maybe a few more bamboos and a few ep's but nothing like a lepord .

the Big Als down here in FL has a 5000G shark tank...its pretty cool....they had 3 small black tip reef sharks, 2 nurse sharks, about 4-5 huge eels, couple of groupers, tons of damsels amung other things...its a pretty cool tank but not worth the 700k+ they said they have invested in it! go to www.bigalsusa.com and you can see pics of it..

great place to order from. I love the way they cut back on shipping prices by recycling boxes. My UV sterilizer came in a budlight case.

You have to wonder who how a fish store that tells their customers they are making VERY little profit in order to pass the saving to us can afford to invest in a 3/4 million dollar fish tank containing livestock unavailable to most people. Maybe an expensive reef tank would at leats make more sense as it directly relates to something they sell.

BTW those black tip reef sharks - although small and young will outgrow that tank fairly fast.

I have to admit, Im have a bitter attitude towards BA's becasue everytime I go in their I end up leaving frusturated with the lack of service and overabundance of "know it all" attitudes.

look up their franchise information and you will quickly see how they can afford to build such things.
