yeah its cycled.
nitrite 0
ammonia 0
nitrate was between 15-20
i accidently did a large water change the other day, left my ro running and dropped the salinity down to 1.023 in my tank, but i briught it back up over a couple days.
nitrate is at 10 now.
im gonna do a 25 percent water change next week to get the nitrate down.

ammonia was between 0.5 and 1.0.
i didnt even bother to test nitrite for some reason.

that rock smelled really good, nothing has died on it and i see more and more new stuff on it every day.

shrooms are all over that rock and theres some sort of weird animals that are in these tubes that they are building on some of the rocks. the tubes they are building are white colored and , kinda look like they are built out of sand or some sort of calcium deposit.

ib need to get a clean up crew in there soon.

i had a nice diatom outbreak last week but its all but gone.
now theres a small outbreak of green hair algae, not real bad but unsightly.
im pretty sure the tank cycled.

Not to steal the thread, but Sean when did you put water in the tank? Wasn't it the weekend of the swap? I must be wrong, you must have had water in there before. I have never heard of a tank going through a full cycle in a week and half.

Very glad the rock has worked out. I have a few pieces and it is teaming with life. Nice to know those shrooms and stuff stayed alive over night in a bucket.

no i had water in it for a few weeks with all the rock that i made.
i posted a thread on here that was about petsmart or one of these big pet stores here having salt on sale, i added salt that night, im pretty sure it was at least a couple weeks.

i have a few yellow tailed damsels in there.

i didnt test for anything during that time, but after adding the live rock i did test it and there was ammonia, so there must have been some dyeoff, either way the tank removed the ammonia to nitrite and then to nitrate.
theres really no bio load in there other than the dyeoff or the small amount of food ive been feeding.

could it handle a big bioload? i dunno.
