It took me a year to talk my wife into letting mine be upstairs . We compromised. I wanted it built in she did t like that. I wanted it to go in the dining room wall to wall 12'. That didnt happen. Finally I used my 3D CAD skills to draw it up for her and she was impressed. The hard part was to make it look as good as the drawing. My wife has no sense of imagination. I have to draw it out for her even when we buy furniture.
