Big Tank Cleaning Question

Hello all,

I'm going to have a 5'x4'x2' tall Acrylic inwall tank. The thickness of the acrylic is 1 inch.
Could you show me the best way to clean the tank?
would it okay for me to lay on top of the tank to clean?
Let say the maximum weight is 180 pounds?
Please advice.

Thanks

Is your tank going to be 5 ft tall or 4 ft tall? Either way you will need to get into it on occasion. 2 ft wide is going to be tight. My tank is 3 feet wide and I wish it were 4. You can use the extension poles w acrylic scrapers from kent marine. They even make a swiffer like attachment now with semi dispossible clothes that are safe for acrylic. The only other thing I would use is a micro suede sponge for auto detailing. These are the only three items I have used with success. There are a lot of "acrylic safe" products out there and 99% of them suck. I know because my tank has the scars to prove it. :mad2:

 It was listed as 5'x4'x2' tall. I would assume that means 5 wide, 4 deep, 2 tall.

Thank you guys.
nyvp, I chose acrylic because it much less weight than glass.
Yes, the tank is 5' long, 4' wide and 2' tall.
This is an in wall tank.
My concern is 4' wide is too long for my reach from side to side. I'm thinking of laying on top of the tank to reach to the far side for cleaning, if the tank strong enough.

It all comes down to the planning, access, and design of the in wall setup. My in wall tank is 6 feet wide.....8 feet from front to back....and 30" tall.....and I can reach, by hand, every inch in the tank without laying on top of the tank. The key is to provide a catwalk around the tank on which to stand.

you know I use the magnets from algae free. he custom built me 2 for my 1.5" thick acrylic tank. They work great i may have some small scars from sand in the pad, (people come to my house and think its cool to move the magnets) but If I check them and make sure they are clean its a breeze, takes maybe 5 minutes, including cleaning the outside surface. As far as the tank holding 180 lbs i'd say for sure, I mean acrylic is pretty strong. but I bet you will get very sore trying to do it that way
