I have been looking at the Bio Cube 14/29 to serve as a QT before going into the 220 DT. I'd like to go with the smaller version for two reasons:
1. Smaller volume means less meds and smaller H2O changes needed. I understand that the smaller volume means quicker fluctuations but I will be testing daily and ready to react.
2. Completely aesthetics as I already have one Bio Cube 14 that will be my invert QT and I like the symmetry since they will both be near each other.
But the final decision will be based on whether the smaller tank will be a stress concern for the fish. We all know how plans change in this hobby--but here's part of my current wish list:
Blue Hippo Tang
Kole Tang
Foxface
Flame Angel
Copperband Butterfly
Purple Tilefish pr. (possibility down the road)
Regal Angelfish (definitely way down the road)
A few Fairy/Flasher Wrasse species
A couple of Halichoeres species (Yellow/Adorned)
I'm not too worried about any of the Tangs because I will only be looking at small fish (2-2.5") and the same for the Regal (which is not a definite fish). The Tilefish, however, I'm thinking may be in need of more room since finding smaller specimens are difficult to find and I would like a pair--these are not definite fish either, but they certainly won't be if I don't plan accordingly.
I've leaned on quite a bit of advice from the members of this forum and any more would be greatly appreciated.
