Bio Pearls and SPS

Are they compatible??????


I'm beginning to wonder. I am seeing poor polyp extension since topping up the pearls a month ago.

I'm beginning to think that they are stripping too much out of the water column.

Nitrate is running at 1.5ppm phos is running at 0.025.

What are your experiences?

There was a really great explanation provided by a guy from reef dynamics, and your on the right track with stripping TO much nutrients from the water. Does your bio pellet reactor have a restriction valve? Meaning can you reduce the effluent exiting the reactor, if no that may be the problem. I gravity feed my pearls through my reactor. I may have to knock it back a bit

Smaller I think.

They are about 5mm in diameter. Same idea though.
