Hi. I was getting ready to purchase a reactor and some bio-pellets from reef dynamics. I was wanting to see if anyone ran bio-pellets in there sps tank. My tank is mostly all sps but im having horiable algae problems. So I was hoping to get some free back from people who have used them. Thanks!

i have been running pellets for almost 6 months now, and am very happy with them. i run a hybrid NP pellet/zeo system. the only suggestion i can make is take it slow. stay at the half dose of pellets for longer than manufacturer suggested so you know if you even need the extra pellets. For me, growth has spurred and it made my colors phenomenal.

I run my SPS tank on Bio-pellets for 9 months now and I am very happy.Just like he said in above post take it slow.I started with half the recommended dose and stayed with it for full month,than I added the rest.Pellets will strip your water very fast of any nutrients,so you will be able (and need to) to feed your fish and corals more often.My SPS colored up very nicely but got little light on color until I started feeding them often.If you want to see my tank how it progressed it is here:http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1872242
