ADDED 2 PACKAGES TO MY 95 GALLON TANK LAST NIGHT. ANY SUGGESTIONS ON HOW LONG TO WAIT UNTIL I DO A WATER CHANGE?

I would start doing water changes when I saw some ammonia. If none shows up for a week or so, you could do a few just for any possible metabolites.

Are you adding ammonia to your tank. If you don't then the bacteria in the biospira will die. It needs ammonia to feed and multiply.

Put in a small raw shrimp leave it in for about three days, or add a little fish food to get the biospira started.

umm... just use a raw shrimp.

Yes, the raw shrimp will work. I like using ammonia because I can keep track of how much I add and how much the bacteria is able to transform into nitrite. I would just make sure you have atleast 1 ppm of ammonia in there at all times.

If there's live rock in the tank, there's no need to dump any kind of shrimp into the tank. If not, I'd add a small chunk (maybe a 1/8" cube) each day for a few days. Fish food would be fine as well.
