Bio spira and salinity?

I set up my quarantine tank and only had the salinity at 1.013 when I added bio spira. Will the bacteria survive? I am treating with hypo.

Thanks!!

don't think so, that range is considered "brackish" and more than likely the bacteria isn't going to live. From what i've heard, you have to slowly decrease the salinity so the existing bacteria has a chance to either morph or adapt into the lower salinity. I've never heard if brackish conditions are FW that adapt, SW that adapt of a completely different type of bacteria.

I guess I will raise my salinity to 1.021 and buy another pouch of bio spira. I have made so many mistakes in this hobby - live and learn.
