Biocube 14 Leak Between Chambers 1/2?

I recently purchased a pre-owned but unused Biocube 14 off of Craigslist for use as a Nano Reef in my Man Cave.

Before setting it up, though, I obviously wanted to leak test it. I added a few inches of water to chambers 2 and 3. Within a few minutes there was water in Chamber 1 which soon equalized with the other two.

I found that the wall separating Chambers 1 and 2 was not fully sealed/siliconed when manufactured. There is about 1/4" where it open and a small trickle of water is allowed through. It is worth noting, though, that the seal between 2 and 3 is identical.

Is this a problem? Should I try to somehow seal it all off or can I run it as it is?

The seal in question. Note that the light gray area where the gap is is actually the bottom of the wall.

Probably not a big deal. The water will be flowing thru the filter area much faster than just a few minutes. And in a short time little tiny stuff will get in and most likely fill in those voids.

Better to worry over is the tank leaking.
