Both fans in my BioCube burnt out after about a month of operation. About three week ago I sent an email to customer service and today, gladly, two fans showed up at my door.
After disassembling the hood to install the new fans, I discovered that they are larger than the originals, probably for something other than the 8 Gallon BioCube I have.
One of them though fit, and turned on just fine when tested. My question is though, will it be a fire hazard running the higher amp fan off of the circuit board that is in the 8 gallon hood.
The old fans were 12 V 0.08 A.
The new fans are 12 V 0.15A.
Any thoughts? Thanks ahead of time.
