Biocube (Need Help)

Hey guys,

So I found a biocube for $100, but he says that he replaced something himself.. this is what he did himself. He bought the part from home depot or something. Is this a safe buy still?

Just looks like the ballast for the lighting

I mean if it worked for him and if he knows what he's doing with electrical stuff then I don't see why not, but it would be up to you to judge if he really knows what her was doing

The stock lighting isn't that great anyway, for what you save on the tank you can easily do an led retrofit/

I took the good off mine and upgraded to an led light that sits on the top of the tank.

I had the hqi but I took off the whole top front rim and made it rimless.
