Biocube skimmer

Your better of asking in the nano section. I used to have a biocube, and the goto skimmer was an Aquaticlife 115.

Yeah he has the new biocube 32 LED, not sure if it is the same back compartment size as the previous biocube

I think they just changed the hood from T5's to LED's. The tank itself is the same.

If its the tunze one I'm thinking of, it has to go in the second chamber, and it doesn't work very well in the biocube. On second thought, that might be the 9002.

What I found was the Tunze 9001 is suppose to fit. I think you have to cut out the plastic shelf piece and will need a media basket or DIY basket for the first part of the second chamber.

I have one on the wish list for Christmas. I wish I could tell you for sure already.

Hope it works out for you, thanks for the response! From what I'm hearing, the 9004 is too big to fit

I have a really well modified 29g Biocube. IMHO there are much better things to do with the middle chaimber then waste it on a good skimmer. I purchased the Aquatic Life 115, made a footing for it out of egg crate. Inside the footing you can store some media of your choice (I used rubble rock and crushed coral for pH stability and extra bio filtration), the 115 mounts above it nicely. Now I placed the inTank Media setup with refugium in the middle, with magnet mounted refugium light. Really got my nitrates under control. You can even run a small reactor of your chouce back there if you want. Way more options. There may be a slight quality difference between the Tunze and the Aquatic life, but if your looking for quality in the 1st chamber then get an Innovative marine ghost desktop skimmer. If your doing water changes reg, it will certainly be enough. just may have to empty the cup a little more often. Have fun

IMO the Aquaticlife 115 is a more than capable skimmer in chamber 1. Once broken in, it performs quite well there. More importantly, because the water level stays constant in that chamber the performance of the skimmer stays consistent as opposed to keeping the skimmer in chamber 2, even with an ATO.

FWIW, this is 3 days of skimmate from my BC29...

I also use an aquaticlife 115 that has been in use for 5+ years with very little cleaning and has performed well.

If I where going to by a new on I would go with CAD Lights PLS 50 as it will also fit in chamber 1 and from what I have seen at my LFS pulls a tun of dark skim.

Can someone help me figure out the light settings on the 32 biocube?? I thought I had it figured out but the timers are messed up and the tank never turns off at night after going into the blue lights moon setting. Can anyone break this down for me for the L1,L2,L3. Or have a video that breaks stuff down?

Thank you in advance!!

I'm using pretty much what Narwhal82 suggested.. Or better yet I will once my cycle is complete.. lol

Asking for a friend, will a tunze 9004 skimmer fit in the back of the new biocube 32 LED?

Ask Marine Depot. They sell a lot of different nano skimmers including this one and their staff knows a ton about the hobby. Joseph probably would know.
