Biopellets and bio balls

So I actually just ordered a bottle of seachem flourish nitrogen too. I'm going to dose either that or nopox but haven't decided on which one. I'm leaning more towards nitrates as there is evidence about the necessity of nitrates in order for bio pellets to reduce po4. That plus I'm not exactly sure what's in no pox other than I've heard it smells exactly like vinegar.

Hi Joel,

Do you have any update on this? I know its an old thread.

If anyone has any input on side effects or a recommended dosing regimen, it would be highly appreciated?

I moved away from biopellets as the amount of carbon dosed into the system is inconsistent. I am now dosing nopox with good results. Still getting the he Nitrate deficiency but I'm supplementing aminos (red sea reef energy A and B) to make up for it. Also running seachem seagel. Working so far. My Bubble Algae is slowly going away

Nopox has done more for me than gfo, bp's, resin's, vodka, vinegar, huge water changes..
I think it's all about the balance produced. (and bypassing the sugar stages that bp's are still subject to)
You have to use Reef Energy though if the nitrates are too low. It's basically a coral food, but lacks phosphorous, so it's "nitrates" for the nopox to use.
Best product I've ever come across in the hobby.

Yeah I've been dosing reef energy A and B. Have you used C? Ive been dosing 1 mil each twice a week and I'm going to up it to 2 mils. Very happy with red sea products
